Unfortunately, in the FMCG industry, things don’t always go to plan. At Apiary Group our primary focus is to address and resolve the issue at hand. Once this has been managed, we take the time to stop and understand why the issue occurred in the first place and how to mitigate a re-occurrence in the future. We then ensure issues are documented with root causes and mitigation plans to refer back to if need be.

As part of our offering, you will gain access to our improvement initiatives program which will help to improve availability, grow sales, reduce waste and achieve greater overall supply chain efficiencies. We will conduct a full review of your current processes including root cause analysis and put forth recommendations for improvement. Once agreed, we implement and track any initiatives and provide updates.

Whether its weekly, monthly, annually or ad-hoc, Apiary Group will help to provide all of your reporting needs, either select from one of our pre developed reporting options or let us customise one to suit your business. Our typical reporting includes: sales, waste and markdown, inbound service level, forecast accuracy, promotional performance, store availability, inventory holdings, working capital, network days cover, ex factory sales versus target.

  • Improvement to delivery on time and in full results
  • Improvement to store availability
  • Sales growth year on year
  • Reduction in waste and markdown through stock management
  • Reduction in logistics costs through improved asset utilisation
  • Reduction in picking costs through improved ordering cycles
  • Reduced labor spend through improved forecast accuracy
  • Reduction in inventory holdings through improved forecast accuracy
Training and on-boarding

As part of our services, we offer an on-boarding program to new Vendor Replenishment Planners to ensure that are equipped with the required knowledge and skills. Training is delivered in learning blocks with basic systemic requirements for day to day management right through to advanced modules for expert management of the portfolio. All relevant training material is provided; training is delivered through job shadowing, coaching, tutorials and Q&A sessions.

Post completion of our onboarding program we offer ongoing support to new Vendor Replenishment Planners if required.

Planned and unplanned cover

Whether it’s planned months in advance or an unexpected last minute illness, Apiary Group will always ensure we have you covered. Our seamless approach to managing planned and unplanned leave cover guarantees you never have to be worried about your portfolio when your full time VRP is away. Prior to any planned leave we spend time with your VRP to take comprehensive handover notes to ensure all aspects of the job role are covered and your portfolio is managed without missing a beat. When your VRP returns we ensure we hand back the portfolio with a detailed handover.

Supply chain project management

In addition to our core services, we manage ad-hoc short term supply chain projects for suppliers without a VRP or to support the existing VRP. Typical projects include – transitions as part of an acquisition, vendor code migrations, warehouse relocation, packaging changes, system changes or upgrades, site shutdowns. We manage everything from project scope, management of timeline and milestones, liaising with Coles internal teams and providing periodical project updates.
